Upholding Haitong | Ensuring Comprehensive Flood and Fire Safety Measures During the Holiday Period
Release date:
2020-08-01
During the upcoming high-temperature holiday period, extreme weather conditions such as heavy rain and intense heat may occur. To ensure that emergency response measures are fully implemented, Haitong Group has proactively initiated preparations for flood control and drainage, along with comprehensive safety inspections focused on fire prevention. Additionally, the company has urgently purchased 150 sandbags for flood protection, stocked up on raincoats, rain boots, fire extinguishers, and other essential supplies, ensuring a robust reserve of emergency resources to support a smooth resumption of production. Meanwhile, due to blockages in nearby waterways outside the factory premises, significant waterlogging has accumulated within the厂区, further complicating the tasks of Haitong’s on-site personnel.
To ensure effective flood prevention and preparedness for emergencies, the Group has decided to establish two dedicated emergency response teams: the Axle & Bridge Emergency Squad and the Brake System Emergency Squad. All members of both squads must maintain seamless communication at all times, especially during the upcoming summer heatwave holiday period—when they should remain on standby upon receiving any notification. Meanwhile, mid-level staff on duty must stay firmly at their posts. In the event of urgent, unexpected situations—such as strong winds or heavy rainfall—the squad members will independently report to the factory grounds to join the emergency response efforts.
In line with flood control requirements, personnel assigned to flood prevention duties will rotate shifts to ensure continuous coverage. Additionally, comprehensive training sessions on flood preparedness will be conducted in low-lying areas. Before the flood season officially begins, team leaders will guide shift personnel in conducting thorough inspections and preparations for critical locations, including drainage systems, power supply equipment, and warehouses.
Should a potential hazard arise, team members must prioritize their own safety while promptly safeguarding the company’s assets to prevent or minimize losses.
On July 22, 2020, the floodwater outside the Haitong factory premises had already reached knee level.
In addition, during the summer holiday period, everyone is asked to stay sharp and maintain focus until the very end. In the face of the severe flood situation, the company once again issues the following initiative:
First, during flood season, natural disasters such as landslides and mudslides are more likely to occur. Therefore, Haitong employees should avoid visiting or staying in areas prone to flash floods whenever possible.
Second, listen to weather forecasts regularly, stay closely informed about weather changes, take proactive flood-prevention measures, and enhance your ability to protect yourself.
Third, during the flood season, avoid visiting or lingering near rivers, ponds, reservoirs, beaches, and other water areas.
Fourth, try to avoid going out during strong winds and heavy rain.
Fifth, if the flood comes too quickly and there’s no time left to evacuate, immediately head for higher ground and wait for rescue.
As the ancients said, "Floods are fiercer than wild beasts." The devastation caused by floods is immense—they can sweep away our homes, disrupt our daily lives, and even claim our very lives. Water and fire show no mercy; therefore, we must remain vigilant about our surroundings at all times to prevent harm from befalling us.

Regularized COVID-19 Prevention and Control
Don't let up on personal protection.
Recently, outbreaks have emerged one after another in Dalian and Urumqi. Haotong Group has urged all employees not to let their guard down, emphasizing that traveling out of the province during the holiday period is strictly prohibited. As long as everyone remains vigilant, normalcy will soon be restored.
The Chairman stated at the meeting that, as the pandemic becomes the new normal, everyone is urged to remain vigilant, continue investing in prevention and control resources and funding, and sustain long-term efforts to effectively manage and contain the outbreak—without easing up on any aspect of the防控 work.
Everyone must strictly adhere to all work regulations, consciously wear masks, minimize unnecessary outings, avoid gathering in crowded places, and diligently carry out hygiene and disinfection measures. Let’s try our best to stay away from crowded areas—after all, epidemic prevention starts with each of us. Together, we can build a strong safety shield!
